We visited Luray and Skyline Caverns this weekend. Luray is much bigger and older, but we preferred Skyline. Compared to Luray, it is less commercialized and less crowded. And Skyline has colorful lighting, which helps keep kids from getting bored. My 9-year-old daughter appreciated that the path is more natural and original. Our tour guide, Star (If I remember correctly), is very passionate, informative, and knowledgeable. You can see there are sparkling stars when he introduced the cavern.

Fantastic experience
I visited Skyline Caverns on 10/08/2026. Our guide, Andrew, was great. Loved his corny jokes. The whole tour lasts an hour and is a little over a mile long. The path is easy: in the same group I was in there were two little kids, a lady in her late 60s/early 70s, and a woman in crutches and all could do the tour with no issues. Bring a jacket because the temperature is close to 50 degrees all year long. A good place to visit if you're in the area.
