Wrong treatment approach killed my cat PLEASE READ ALL STORY to understand Never thought she is incompetent until I lost my 9 yr old very healthy baby cat. We went in for soft stool. She prescribed antibiotic and diet food after a blood work that came normal except showed allergy to something.( she did not know what) . GREAT DOCTOR DR. P is WONDERFUL. She takes her time and answers every question. You won't feel pressured or rushed here. I have been using this clinic for almost twenty years and I wouldn't change to another. The price list is more than fair, she keeps them affordable. The care my 3 pets received over the years was top of the line. This is a very small practice but the doctor has a very big heart. I hope that she maintains this practice for another 30 years. My dog Scooby loves the Skokie Animal Hospital.
Questionable Surgery My pets were patients here until my puppy under went the surgery to be fixed. What should have gone smoothly - did not. She was not coming out of the anesthesia and we were not informed of this at the time of my phone call to check up on her. We later learned one of the staff even took her home to care for her all night, which I appreciated. I didn't appreciate the near death experience or the lack of communication between the vet and I. I would not take my pet here for boarding or surgery of any kind.
Bad Vet My dog was taken here after he started bumping into things freqently and the female vet in this practice performed some tests, read the blood work in the wrong order, and misdiagnosed him. After misdiagnosing him, she medicated him for the wrong ailment and sent him into the beginning stages of renal failure. I brought him to another vet who wanted to see the tests that she performed and she refused to send anything other than the diagnosis until I fought with her for a while.
