Several years ago I went to Skies Unlimited in Pottstown, Pa to buy a replacement finder scope for my Meade 8 Inch SCT. The store clerk told me that I could purchase a Orion finder scope instead that cost less than a Meade would. He also told me that the Orion would fit on the Meade scope by using the same mounting brackets that came with the Meade. Much to my surprise it didn't fit, they were a different size.
