Seems like a lovely store. It’s the second time I’ve been the only customer in the store and not one employee could offer help or say hello. I’ll stick with REI.
Plenty of inventory (bikes), fair price and knowledgeable staff - shame I live so far away otherwise I’d be a regular
I was coming for vacation to Bangor and looking for a place to rent a MTB because carrying my bike on the plane would have been several hundred dollars. I found Ski Rack and was pleasantly surprised of their rental prices. They were out of hardtails when I arrived (I learned you can reserve one) so I got a full suspension. They gave me a Cannondale Trigger which is a BAD*** bike to begin with, you can tell it had been thrashed by other renters (squeaky bottom bracket, dirty, beaten up) but it was still in good condition cons... read more
I bought three kayaks this week at Ski Rack, with all the accessories. I worked with Pete there, and he had the knowledge to ensure that I got what I wanted. The staff - the three others that I worked with - was great. I’d bought a bike (Cannondale) at Ski Rack about three decades ago that I still ride. The quality products and good service remain the same after all these years.
Business response:
Thank you for the kind words Chris! Pete said it was a pleasure working with you and your family. We really appreciate your business!
Amazing people and selection..
I like to give local places my business but I’ve always had mediocre experiences with this shop. Today I broke my bike in to be inspected for the Trek Across Maine as there were no other local shops doing the inspection. Every staff member was rude, ignored me when I needed something and simply unprofessional. I will continue to give my business to the other local bike shops and if have to, next year drive down state to get my bike inspected.
Great store. I’ve rented down hill skis for a couple winters now. They’ve taken good care of my son and I each time. Helpful staff and an all around great store. I’d highly recommend putting Amazon down and checking this place out for outdoor needs for a chance to support a local business. 👍
These guys are great, we went in looking for a trade in on my husbands boots, found the perfect pair and they gave us a super fair trade in value. I also wanted a new pair of ski boots as well but after Glen spent literally an hour fiddling and tweaking my old boots I realized they were perfect after all. Thanks for making our ski trip 100% better!
Thanks for the fine service! We needed help with a really tight bike seat bolt and a stuck-together 2-piece kayak paddle. Both problems solved thanks to two gentlemen on the staff. Well done!
