Moved out recently after a year here. My deposit statement included charges for flooring repair and carpet cleaning — items I'd consider normal wear and tear, which California law doesn't allow deducting from a security deposit. I disputed the two charges in writing: two emails, NEVER ANSWERED. I also called the office twice; both times a colleague promised to pass my message along, and I never heard back — either the messages were never relayed or they were simply ignored. I want to sincerely thank Carlos for his outstanding service. He went above and beyond to help us with the pest issue in our apartment. He thoroughly cleaned the pipes in every sink, including the kitchen and both bathrooms, and even stayed past his scheduled hours to make sure everything was done properly. I originally had a great impression of this community, but unfortunately my experience with the current property management completely changed my opinion. After reviewing our signed lease, I could not find any provision authorizing the charges that were placed on our account.
