AVOID! This is a SCAM! I paid over $2300 through Kayak/Discovery Cars for a one-month car rental with Sixt in Toronto. When I went to pick up the car, the Sixt employee refused to give me the vehicle because I didn't have my original home country's driver's license, even though I had my International Driving Permit (IDP) and a photo of my license. Location wrong on Google maps. Took ages to find this place. Entry is via stairs on king st across the road from the theatre. Also bring physical card, tap n pay doesn’t work here
I booked a car with Sixt. Pickup was at 5:00 PM. I arrived at 5:05 to find the branch already closed - no call, no text, no heads up. Really? Any reasonable service would account for this. Customers aren’t always on the dot, and a good team would let you know the branch closes at the same time as your pickup. That didn’t happen. Instead, I was stranded before a trip, had to scramble for another car, and Sixt still charged me $800 for a rental I never received. No service was given, yet full payment was taken. Office of scammers! Find another company! 1. I had prepaid for 3 days. The manager calculated more money and accordingly the bill ended up being higher. It's my fault that I didn't check. But I couldn't even imagine that such a company could cheat. 2. A month later they wrote off the money from my card. They replied by mail that it was because the car category was higher. But!
