EDIT: I was able to get help here from a very nice doctor that not only listened, but she also prescribed a medicine that has fixed problems my body has been having for years. I highly recommend going here, and if the first visit doesnt go well, I hope the second one goes much better like it did for me. I had my first appointment with Gastroenterology today. I was a bit surprised at the other comments. We hadn't left the waiting area before my wife and I discussed just how pleasant and professional the front-end staff was. My visit with the specialist was equally as good. Knowledgeable, receptive, and professional. This is the type of experience I have always had with SIU in general. If you have a Chronic GI issue they will not do anything to help except give you a colonoscopy every 4 to 5 years. Do not waste your time. They will not listen to you and blame you. And all the meds they want to put you on do not work or make you more sick. If you want to waste your time and money go to them. Avoid Jessica Winklemen. Literally blows my mind how bad almost any GI you go to anywhere for chronic problems literally do nothing to help or look deeper into the problem to figure out what’s going on. Doctor i got was very dismissive of everything I was dealing with, told me that I was fine when if I was I wouldnt be there and that I wasn't dealing with what I was, kept misgendering me regardless of what I said, and I had to contact a different siu building in town just to get the meds actually prescribed instead of just being added to my meds list. Do not recommend this place, even though it was my only option at the time.
Very disappointed with the staff here. Schedulers were not friendly at all and were not accommodating to time of appointment. You were forced o take the appt time they gave you. Nurses were not friendly either. I would be prescribed a new medication on a Monday and it would not be at my pharmacy until that Friday. That was only after several phone calls to find out what the problem was. Drs. did not explain things and didn't act like they even cared.
