I am utterly devastated and outraged by the complete neglect and human rights violations I have experienced at SIU Medicine. Their failure to diagnose or treat my multiple assaults and injuries has resulted in severe, ongoing pain and suffering. I agree with a lot of the reviews here. Trying to call the front desk staff seems impossible sometimes. Extremely long wait times on call to the point where I never bother at this point, I just contact my doctor directly through the patient portal. On that note, my provider, Careyana Brenham, is so sweet and caring. Literally one of the best doctors I've ever had. She's always willing to listen to my concerns and has been a huge help for me along my gender transition. The only thing that bothers me is that it can be hard to ... read more

This is absolutely unacceptable and beyond frustrating. It is impossible to get through via phone to any of the SIU offices. I was on hold this morning for 35 minutes and finally gave up. That was important time for me. When I called back and explained that I need to talk to SOMEONE now, I was told she would put me through to someone (I forget what she called it…patient concerns, or something like that?) who could answer questions about my situation and it wouldn’t be a wait time.
