I’m writing this review because I want to give a shout out to the front desk staff — especially Alex who was personable, helpful and fun to chat with. If you’re in Skita, stay here. Rooms are a bit basic, but fine. Avoid rooms with “view of the water” though. The view includes a view of the parking lot where people like to congregate at all hours. A problem if it’s warm enough to need to sleep with the windows open. As with most hotels we stayed at in Alaska, there’s no air conditioning.

The sheets were awful: they didn't fit and were in a big wad by the time morning rolled in. PLUS there should have been TWO sheets on the bed: one on top of the comforter and one under it. I didn't realize I was a sheet short until I woke up the next morning and found myself sleeping with the comforter against my skin! It's a wonder I didn't have a stroke...yuk! (I tried to fix a typo but could not. The sheets didn't fit and the word "was" should have been a big "WAD" and not WAS).

On Sunday, we arrived around 10 am to drop off our bags. The front desk staff didn’t say “hello” but immediately told us “check in time is 3PM.” They allowed us to store our bags in a closet. That’s fine. We returned around 3 PM and were told the room wasn’t ready and to return in a few hours. We returned at 7 PM and the room still wasn’t ready.
