Get directionsOn the morning of Monday, 4th August at 7:00 am, following a night of sudden and severe vertigo accompanied by persistent vomiting, I presented to the Emergency Department at Charlie’s. The symptoms had begun the night before and continued into the early hours of the morning. After a lengthy wait in ED, I was seen for initial investigations, including an ECG, blood tests, and cannula insertion. I was then returned to the waiting room for several more hours before a bed finally became available in the Observation Ward. Despit... read more
I went to Charlie’s on the 7th August 2025 with very uncomfortable lower back pain spanning 5 weeks from an injury. The symptoms were neuronal and starting to concern me mentally. I checked in and waited three hours as it was busy (to be expected) eventually getting seen at about 3pm (problem isn’t a a shortage of hospitals or staff, simply too many people coming into the country). They didn’t even call me, her emergency contact and her phone was dead- no one helped her find a charger. Left alone in an office room for 12 hours, with no one coming to check on her. She could barely walk and was sent home in a taxi. Will be filing a formal complaint, the absolute neglect of duty of care is disgraceful.
I was left to wait while I vomited, fainted and screamed in severe abdominal pain for 8 hours straight. I was never checked on by anyone. Nurses were chatting and laughing amongst themselves the whole time. I knew something was very wrong, and I thought I honestly thought I was going to die from neglect. When I was finally seen, I was accused of being a "drug seeker" (I do not take drugs). I was seen by a dr a few hours later, and he said my pain was "psychosomatic", "in my head" and that "nothing was medically wrong with me... read more
