I really wanted to like this office but unfortunately went here for ~3 months for a consistent issue that they misdiagnosed me with. Instead of properly analyzing my skin issue, they kept treating me with a treatment that clearly wasn't working week over week. They also prescribed me a very strong antibiotic without a bacterial culture for 1 month that also did nothing to solve my problem and recommended a very invasive surgery that wasn't covered by insurance nor actually what I needed. SINY Dermatology is great. I had an incredible initial consult with Dr Parker Ward. I’ve been struggling with chronic flatwarts for over a decade. I have literally been to nearly two dozen dermatologists over that time. ALL of them have offered topical creams that have not worked. I was recently given up on by my dermatologist who said there was nothing else they could do for me at NJH on 102ns St in Manhattan, and told to follow up with my GP. Very disappointing experience. This was my first time seeing a dermatologist, and I scheduled the visit for a full annual skin check plus two skin issues I wanted to address. The assistant asked a couple of basic questions, and when the doctor came in, he went straight to explaining how to use the prescriptions without performing any real exam. The entire visit lasted under five minutes. For an annual skin check, this felt rushed. I won’t be returning.
This is not a legitimate doctors office. I think their business model is to scam insurance companies. I went in to get a super simple treatment more than 2 weeks ago. I still haven't gotten the medicine I needed. When you try to call them, it goes straight to voicemail. Instead, I was billed $2000. They didn't bill my insurance correctly, and I have had to spend hours on the phone correcting it. Go somewhere else for your medical needs.
Love the front desk staff. The office is lovely. However, in dealing with my teenager's acne, it feels like it's really about making money. Visits are about 5 minutes, with a suggestion to rebook soon. The model feels like it's entirely based on maximizing profit. That may be unfair, but that's what it feels like.
