Singer Castle is the only remaining/existing castle on our river to be completed, fully furnished and lived in during the heyday of the great builders and industrialists in New York. The castle is open for tours from mid-May - early October. Awesome time at singer castle! Scott and the crew were great.
This was our second trip to Singer! There is no doubt this is a beautiful castle! Our family prefers this to Boldt given the history and the fact it was actually lived in. The guided tour approach that Singer takes is also nice and very informative. We did notice that our tour this time around seemed rushed and skipped over some of the most interesting parts of the castle (for example there is a hidden passage in the library which was not even mentioned this time around and our kids were sad about that). Spoiler alert! It's not a castle. It's basically an old posh house on an island. I'm only giving it 3 stars because the tour guide and staff were very friendly. I would visit Singer over Boldt Castle.
