We installed a Simplex Lift in our new home in 2006 after a careful review of the alternatives. As a mechanical engineer I was impressed by its design simplicity, and well thought through safety features, along with it being less than half the price of most alternatives. It was easy to install and has worked for 17 years without any fault other than light bulb replacement and a sticky safety switch. I cannot recommend it more highly.
