There is a reason why there are so many 5 star review for Ms. Mel. I hadn't been to a salon in about a decade but I took a chance and after seeing her reviews and her multiple credentials as a cosmetologist who's passion for natural hair truly shines it was a no brainer. Gifted hands! Mel is professional, talented, and knowledgeable about hair. Searched for a natural haircare salon in my neighborhood and found SimpleStyles by Mel. After an in person consultation, Mel took the time to help me learn more about better loc maintenance for my hair type and suggested services. I booked a scalp and hair detox, and crochet maintenance. Let me just say this.. Mel knows what she's doing. She has a very calm, confident aura that will help you relax while getting her services. I was a bit anxious for my first appointment since I've had some "not-so-great" hair experiences before. But Mel made the process so easy.. She gave my starter locs a whole "spa day", taught me how to care for them and recommended good products to help me out. I walked out feeling rejuvenated. Just check her out, you won't regret it
