It’s Friday afternoon and we are off for a weekend away… Near Onehunga, on the motorway, dashboard starts to show error codes, vehicle is not happy… We quickly google Auto Electrical and up pops Simms, not far away and we know they are reputable. We call in, unannounced, and explain the problem, by now it’s 3:30pm on a Friday, usually there’s not much anyone can or will do. I showed them the issue with my car, and they gave me a price estimate for an electrical and battery diagnostic. The amount seemed reasonable, so I agreed. However, after the job was done (a 10-minute task that took 25 minutes), they claimed the initial quote didn’t include labour and charged me extra. I wouldn’t recommend a business that isn’t upfront and honest.
