Simla is superb!!! Everything about this restaurant is fantastic, the service, the food, just excellent.
We had our first visit to Simla last night and it was 5 star all-round. Delicious food, very friendly service. Highly recommend the paneer kofta! Best Indian Restaurant in Newcastle, without a doubt - we can’t wait to go back!
This is honestly the best curry we have in the north east. We’ve been coming here for near on 8 years religiously, and the food is always fantastic, the staff are brilliant, the atmosphere is fab. When we talk ‘death row meal’ it’s the simla gunpowder prawns, followed by a lamb shank rogan Josh. Gorgeous! (Note we’ve tried other ‘famous’ places near by and by the coast, and they’re not even a PATCH on Simla)
Been to many Indian restaurants but Simla is still my number 1 rank in north east. All dishes superb. Atmosphere is always lively. Customer service is traditional, smiley, none of the QR self-service malarkey. Sheri gave a dhall tonight, and what a dhall it was. Thickness excellent consistency, blended spice which brought out the smell and taste with my pillau. Jalfrezi was authentic, thick with good portion of chicken - had the right kick. Mark of an excellent chef in the back. Thank you. Another excellent food night
