The dives and our dive guide (Jason) were great, but there were a few administrative details that were a little lacking. Having to fill out paper forms while on a boat with few flat surfaces (when seated outside) was less than ideal. Especially if it’s sprinkling at all, everything gets wet. Also, I was disappointed that there wasn’t much talk on wearing reef safe sunscreen nor warnings to passengers to mind their rubbish. Our family of 4 had an amazing day out on the Agincourt Reef thanks to Silversonic. It was extremely well organised and lunch was yummy. Lily our guide was excellent and made our day enjoyable, informative and fun. Oh and the reef was breathtaking, so many fish including a clownfish, Bluespotted Ribbontail Ray and reef shark.
The boat was pretty nice and the guides were knowledgeable, and they took us to some gorgeous spots. Lunch was edible. I paid extra for an introductory dive and it definitely wasn’t worth it, it was very short and we spent the whole time holding the instructor’s hand, and because of where I was placed, she was directly in front of my field of vision the whole time so I couldn’t see any of the actual reef, just her. Buena experiencia en la Gran Barrera de Coral (Port Douglas) , como su homólogo de Cairns (Silverswift). En total 2 días y 6 buceos certificados. PROS: Crucero bien organizado. Tripulación amable. Comida correcta. CONTRA: Muy cronometrado, lo que desluce un poco la experiencia.
Staff were good but not one asked did we see much or enjoy the trip, seemed more intent on renting go pros and selling pictures. Food was very disappointing but lots of it. The most important thing is the reef….. have read good and bad reviews saw pictures where colours bounced off the screen and also some with very bleached coral. After researching we decided to go with Silver Sonic from Port Douglas on strong recommendation from the information centre in Palm Cove, as it would bring us to the best reefs in good condition… ... read more
