History Established in 1958. Silver Spring Animal Hospital has been in business since 1958 - first with Dr. John Roeder, Jr., then Dr. Kim, and starting in 1999, Dr. Gouri Krishna. In 2017, we moved from our original location on Seminary Road to Metropolitan Avenue in Kensington so we could expand and modernize our practice. Our doctors include Gouri Krishna, DVM and Patrick Barnes, DVM. We look forward to seeing you and your pets soon.

Love this practice! Everyone was wonderfully kind and caring with my dog. Dr Watts helped him relax immediately. Michele at the front desk was super friendly and helpful. Best thing was that my dog wasn't scared at this place- the fear free motto is not just a slogan! My dog underwent dental surgery that cost less than half of the estimate I’d gotten at another practice (no I’m not exaggerating!). I’m very happy I found this practice.
They are kind and helpful for our cat - and us when we have questions. Nice staff.
I am deeply disappointed with the care provided by Silver Spring Animal Hospital. My cat, Mafalda, has been treated by this group of vets for several years. She has been on Solensia for arthritis for over a year and recently underwent blood work to check liver, kidney, and thyroid function—everything came back normal. Despite this, she has been steadily losing weight for months. Dr. Benton’s only advice during this time was to "offer her more food," which was not helpful given her worsening condition.
