My husband and I had a wonderful 5-night stay at Silver Salmon Creek Lodge. Our guide (Rob) was extremely knowledgeable, personable, and accommodating. He put us in the perfect spot, anticipating the movement of bears, for pictures and videos. He made us feel perfectly safe walking in the meadows while pointing out the wonderful sights. All of our wish list of activities was granted, which is not easy given the unpredictability of the Alaskan weather. Awesome location and staff. Rob our guide was fantastic. Lyle the pilot who flew us out in some crazy weather was an amazing pilot. David and Oliver the owners were excellent hosts. The chef and the baker made us delicious food everyday. A must visit as the bear views there are awesome.
2024 additional review: We loved it so much we came back again! A great time at both the tent camp and the lodge. This is the best of Alaska! 2022 was our 2nd time at the lodge and their remote camp on Shelter Creek. We're already booking for 2024. This is a top of the line lodge with great accomodations, gourmet dining, and superb attention to detail from all the staff. Most guests are there for bear viewing, we were there to catch Salmon and were not disappointed.
What an amazing place!! The views are beyond belief. The access to nature is amazing. This place retains a rustic quality while providing top notch accommodations. The staff is wonderful from guides to hotel. They are so friendly and always there to see to your needs. The fishing both halibut and salmon was fun for sure. The food in the lodge is second to none. If you are lucky to be there when the Old Timers group convenes in their annual meeting prepared to be entertained with stories. Can’t wait to get back.
Words can not do this place justice. The location, the service, the charm, the wildlife... Everything is just perfect here. Love this place so much!
