Very kind and helpful staff - experience is second to none.
I called regarding a referral for therapy services for my father and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. The representative I spoke with, Kelly, let me know they weren't able to help - but the way that message was delivered came across as abrupt and lacking the empathy I'd expect in a medical setting. From the start of the call, there was little warmth or patience, which made an already difficult situation harder. I am writing this on my wife’s behalf since she is asleep. I would give the experience a 3 because Judy always makes my wife smile when she calls. She is always on top of her phone calls and knows how to make clients feel comfortable with the warmth she brings. She truly makes it feel like she cares. My wife also had Jerry for substance counseling. Unfortunately, my wife had bad experiences with him because he has a hard time hearing, and sometimes he twisted her words on paperwork. Saw a therapist at Sierra Counseling and Neurotherapy in Carson City for obsessive suicidal ideation. She wanted me to make art, music and stories about the intrusive suicidal thoughts. I told her I was not comfortable with that. That I needed her help focusing on healthier things. Instead, she kept pushing those ideas appointment after appointment and told me i needed to work on willingness. I told her about my battle with self harming and fear of another suicide attempt.
