You will not get the value for what you pay here. Their service is better than their food though, as their cooking is average at best. Been there a few times now ordering multiple items. The last time we ordered a steak, it was not seasoned properly, improperly cooked (well done vs medium), and incorrectly seared. Asparagus was improperly cooked (no crunch, no flavor, no sweetness, and mushy), and the mushrooms were bitter & foul. My partner and I took a weekend trip to Gettysburg to visit the battlefield, and we really enjoyed taking a little side trip over to Sidney Tavern. Incredible food and amazing service in a beautifully restored historic inn right on the main intersection of East Berlin, which is a lovely little village. I had a filet that was on par with the good steakhouses in Philly and Pittsburgh, and the potato gratin and roast carrots with hot (mildly spicy) butter sauce were some of the best sides I’ve ever eaten anywhere. We came to Sydney Tavern for a birthday dinner and thoroughly enjoyed our experience! Such a unique and fun atmosphere with great food, drinks, and incredibly friendly staff. We tried a little bit of everything, and across the board the food was fantastic. I had the gnocchi with mushrooms, which was very tasty. I personally would have loved the mushrooms sautéed a little more since they had a stronger mushroom flavor, but I’m also very picky when it comes to mushrooms! Service staff outstanding. Rather noisy. Food was sub-par. Pork loin very chewy. Gnocchi were mush. Was giving Sidney's a second try. Unfortunately, we won't be back.
