Our mother was in Showalter for 2 1/2 years. The nursing staff there under Larissa DON was very good. As our mother faced increasing difficulty in her abilities, the nurses were extremely supportive and would talk her through her sadness. The restaurant staff at Showalter knew her name and were very kind. We have considered ourselves very blessed to have had such thoughtful care for our mom.
Be advised that this is really not an "assisted living" facility. It's more independent living with an onsite restaurant/dining room. Also, the staff there are not very helpful and were rather rude to my family. My siblings and I were scrambling to find assisted living for our mother, as she was being released from a rehab and could no longer live on her own.
