Shorty’s is seriously one of Del Ray’s best hidden gems. Every dish is made with high-quality ingredients and so much care, and you can taste the difference. If you go, the meatball sub is an absolute must. It’s unbelievably good… I still dream about it.
I just moved here from Capitol Hill D.C. and was a frequent diner at The Roost which I love, so was exicted to move almost next door to Shorty's until I tried a few of their sandwiches. I've had the Roast Beef Sandwich and the Muffeleta and both weren't very good and frankly overpriced. This is disappointing since I love Roost so much. Its hard to believe Shorty's belongs to the same company.
Disappointing. Came here for lunch on a Sunday with our toddler. Over $50 including tip for a salad, sandwich and chicken tenders for our kid. Posted menu says kid's meals come with chips and a dip. Tenders arrive with no dip so I go ask the young man working for some and he tells me that will be an extra $2.50. I point to the menu and say "really? even though the menu says it's included?" he nods back at me and I'm thinking are we really about to argue about this right now? My daughter recommended we try a new breakfast sandwich. We headed to the Ave. and stopped in at Shorty's. I got the breakfast Brioche with bacon. Daughter ordered the same, though with sausage. D'LICOUS! I enjoyed so much I have returned.😊
