Absolutely unacceptable practices employed by this funeral home. Postal regulations require specific packaging, labels, and shipping service for mailing cremated remains. (See USPS publication 139) I am a postal worker and I can tell you, There is a reason why the postal service requires these things. When parcels are sorted at the post office in the morning, the parcels get unloaded from a massive box, then they are tossed into carts for each mail route. I called on behalf of work at least four times, another coworker called twice, and another one called three times - not a single call was returned. Each call was answered by an answering service - who were incredibly unhelpful and sounded as if they read from a script - and each time we were assured "a message was sent". Each phone call was made during regular business hours. How are people expected to take care of such matters if the phones aren't answered during the day? This is a 24 hour industry. Recently lost our mother and Andria was a great help and resource. She was very thorough in the preparations, and listened to what my mother said she wanted. Andria took her time, and wanted to know us as friends and not just clients. A definite plus during a hard time.
