After dealing with persistent dampness, we hired ShoreView Masonry to inspect our home. They quickly identified the root cause and handled the entire project with great expertise. As a top masonry contractor in Boston, their brickwork and structural updates were flawless. They operate as a true basement & foundation repair specialist, ensuring the area is completely sealed and protected against future water damage. The crew was respectful, kept the workspace clean, and finished right on schedule. It is hard to find this leve... read more

Finding someone to repoint historic Boston brick without ruining it is hard. Most places just slap standard hard cement in there, which ends up cracking the old soft bricks after a couple of winters. ShoreView actually knows what they are doing. They took samples of our old mortar to match the lime content and the color. The crew spent a whole week carefully grinding out the joints on the side of our building. The wall looks fantastic now. It blends perfectly with the rest of the block and stopped the drafty feeling we had i... read more

Stopping the water from the outside is definitely the way to go if you have the yard space for it! Our basement was getting wet from water soaking right through the cinder block foundation walls. They painted a thick rubbery waterpro... read more

Man what a relief getting this finished. Noticed the basement foundation wall pushing inward a few months ago and basically ignored it until a door frame upstairs started sticking. The structural guy from Shoreview came out and explained how the heavy clay soil outside was putting too much pressure on the old fieldstone and block. They mapped out a plan to brace the wall permanently using heavy steel I beams anchored into the floor. I figured the house would be a loud, dusty construction zone for a month, but they had the wh... read more

Best decision we could have made for this 1920s brick house! When we bought the place, we knew the exterior needed some love, but I didnt realize how bad the mortar had gotten until pieces of it started falling onto the front walkway. The joints were completely recessed, and in some spots, you could almost pull a brick right out of the wall with your bare hands. We needed someone who understood historic masonry, not just a standard concrete guy who would ruin the look of the house.
