A friend invited me and a few others out for sushi recently. Her first choice was Namiko, a fairly reputable joint off 52nd Avenue and Wadsworth Boulevard; unfortunately, we decided Shogun was a better meeting point. We would deeply regret our decision. The service was abysmal from the moment we walked through the door. The hostess sighed audibly when we asked to combine their tiny tables to accommodate our party. She offered us no water and abandoned our table for a good 10 minutes, at which point she finally appeared from h... read more

Shogun is a dissapointment in terms of food quality and cleanliness. Most dishes are typical Japanese American in terms of variety and tradition (meaning: not too traditional). Again..as with many restaurants trying to serve sushi and sashimi..the freshness and quality of the raw fish is not sushi quality. Better to serve it cooked or prepared in some other way than raw. The odors coming from wipe rags cleaning tables..and coming from the kitchen area were nauseating. Apparently the locals patronize Shogun regularly enough t... read more
Good sushi and decent price, especially since the portions are good. Its a very small place so you might want to consider taking it to go on Friday night or the weekend. And service can be pretty slow, but the food is tasty.

Can it get any better? – I go here twice a month because it is so delicious, and the owners are so great! I have tried about every sushi restaurant in the Denver area, and this is by far my favorite. The tuna is great! I think someone was expecting their tuna from a can.....sorry pal.
Some people are never happy – Simply put this place is the best. Shogun is a family run business and it shows. The service is top notch and the food is amazing. Having grown up in the N.Y.C. area I have been to a lot of sushi resteraunts. When I moved here 13 years ago I was a suhi snob, I knew I would not find anything comparable to the restaurants back home. I was wrong. This place has perfected the art. I have tried several other sushi restaurants in Colorado and I keep coming back here. I am constanly amazed at the fresh... read more
Love it Love it Love it Fantastic little joint. Very small, but feels like you stepped out of big old denver and into a little corner of Asia. The portions are fantastically large, prices right on the spot, and the quality is great! I go there every week and have never been disappointed.
