I got 12k and the lawyer got 8k and insisted I pay all my back hospital bills that had been paid by state insurance. I should have been able to decide to take on that debt and when to pay it. I was shoved paper work and made to sign before I was given time to read it. I felt bullied and forced to do things with my settlement that I did not want to do.
