I am a pianist and came to Shirley Kirstein at the recommendation of my doctor at the Center for Performing Artists at St. Luke's Roosevelt when I had a repetitive stress injury. Her hands-on care was miraculous for me, and whenever I have had trouble with my arm since, she has always been able to relieve my pain and restore my function. Shirley's golden hands saved my career as a musician, and I am eternally grateful.
I have known Shirley, as a physical therapist for more than 7 years. I have a recurring condition which needs PT periodically. Shirley is a very friendly, knowledgeable and a caring person. I loved her one on one sessions that helped me recover faster every time I needed her. I would highly recommend Shirley to anyone who is looking for a good physical therapist. I had recommended several of my friends to her and they were happy that I did. Thanks Shirley for working with me over the years and helping me manage my pain
Shirley Kirstein worked with me on 2 occasions: the first time to help me develop a thorough exercise program after a lower back injury. I went to see Shirley Kirstein many years ago because I had suddenly been struck with painful back spasms that limited my ability to do everyday movements or commute to work. She said, you just need to be stronger. And for almost a year, she made me stronger, week by week. It was an incredible experience. No more back pain, and since then, a lifetime commitment to staying fit. I graduated from physical therapy to Pilates and regular trips to the gym. I'm stronger than I've ever been. And I owe it all to Shirley.
