Shirley is not somehow positively ‘emblematic’ of ‘real’ Lancaster County with ‘matter-of-fact’ communication— she is unknowledgeable regarding common supplements/treatments/procedures and quick to dismiss the prescribed treatments of other doctors. She will assume you are lying about previous diagnoses (as if one would lie about a laparotomy.) I can possibly see what these reviewers are saying about Shirley, but I don't think she's actually being rude or dismissive. She just doesn't fawn over her patient or give feigned sympathy. She's matter-of-fact, thorough and competent. I felt very confident that she was considering all the possibilities when diagnosing my illness. She explained her reasoning and her treatment decision. Maybe she's a little blunt, but this is Lancaster County...if you were raised here or lived her for a while, that shouldn't bother you.
My first time seeing her and my last. Very unfriendly, rude, would not listen to me, angry disposition. Never had a health care person treat me in such a manner! Her supervisor should be made aware of her behavior behind closed doors.

Shirley was very rude to me the last time I was seen with her. It was my first time having her and will be my last. She told me I could not get a medicine I wanted because of the side effects, which should be my decision and when I asked her questions she would glare at me and laugh at me and talk to me as if I was a child.
Not very good “bedside manner”.
When you discuss symptoms, there is no verbal interaction. She just looks at you with a noncommittal glare. Avid in sending a patient to specialists.
