I have been a customer of Shirley's all my life. As a child my Daddy would take us to the store on Main in Houston where we could see them make donuts. Since coming to Lubbock we have gone to the store on University and never had a problem. February 14th I went to the store to pickup the order I made online. The lady who was at the window informed me that the baker had quit that morning and had to get the product done at the 19th street location. And we made substitutions for what they didn't have. Did not have a lot to choose from and didn't seem fresh what so ever. Seemed like they were a day old
The clerk that helped me today was very rude. Young black lady. (Didn’t catch a name) whoever is there by herself today. Called to check if they had what I was looking for and no answer 3 times. I get there and no one is there and she’s sitting in the back on her phone. Looks up at me and continues to sit there until I say something. Ask if she could fill a doughnut for me which they do all the time and she said she can’t do that. Overall horrible experience. This use to be my go to. I wil not be returning. Long time customer very disappointed this am.At 6:20. am stopped to get donuts. Front door locked, no response to knocking, went to drive thru again no response. 3 workers ignored my attempts. When returning at 6:40 front door still locked. Noticed side door. When asked about locked door and no response to drive thru. Clerk replied drive thru bell is not working and well the side door was open, implying I should have checked 3 accesses to the business note they made no attempt to open front door at the time either.
This place has gone down hill. Being from Houston, they should close this place down before the ruin the name
