Great Chinese! Quality Chinese food and great service. Although a small establishment, the place is rarely very busy. The food itself is always well-made. More importantly, unlike most Chinese food, Shing Yee meals aren't 90% grease! The only item on the menu I have been disappointed with is the chicken wing option (a bit too much dark meat for my liking). Great place to grab a quick lunch with friends, settle down for a nice dinner with family or pick up some take-out for a late night at the office.

I have been eating here since they opened many years ago. The food has always been good, the service is fast, and the prices are reasonable. I was a customer of the sister restaurant, Ru Yee, and still frequent both places. Theres a Dunkin Donuts across the street that would have let you use the bathroom. You can rate the food, service, and manager, just by trying to use the bathroom. I wish I could do that because it would have prevented a lot of bad dining experiences, which I have never had at Shing Yee. You must have one... read more

Bad Food, Bad Decor, Bad Attitude on Owner – I stopped in there last night in order to use the rest room. The owner not only refused but was shouting his refusal loudly. I wouldn't even bother to try the food after that experience. I can see why that dump was empty when I was there.

Good service and food The wait staff is very quick and to the point, and we liked the food. It was very fast service. The place remains a good place for a meal.

Popular suburban restaurant satisfies weekend crowds with consistent, straightforward Chinese fare. – In Short Located just down the street from the West Newton Cinema, Shing Yee has long been a weekend favorite of area families. The lengthy menu of familiar Chinese-American fare stretches over several pages and includes several vegetarian options. Bargain lunch specials (served Mon-Sat before 3pm) rarely top $6 and are a favorite of worker bees whose offices are within walking distance.
