My family and I have been going to Shing Wako Resort for the last 5 years, we just wrapped up our 5th year today. Sadly, we learned the resort owner has had some financial struggles. We noticed some things were different this year, some maintenance issues mostly, but we were also the only guests at the resort this year. During our stay we looked at other resorts in the area and, honestly, nothing compared to the charm of this resort. DO NOT BOOK THIS PLACE!!! If I could give it 0/5 I would. We booked this place based on pictures because it was beautiful and look so nice and relaxing, especially the beach, however, this was not the case and the pictures were very deceitful, false advertisement and we felt scammed! First off, when you get there, you have no idea where the office is to check in. There are no clear signs where the office is, which we found out it’s in the back of the owners house. Mitch and Kiera are wonderful hosts. Very attentive to the many needs of our large family. Two cute children too. The resort is wonderful. Located close to Brainard and Nisswa. Playground is fabulous for our small children to play on. Clean grills and fire pit. We will beback.
