Shimura Restaurant is not what it used to be I hate to leave a bad review, but I did want to warn other about Shimura Restaurant in Fountain Valley. The first time I went to Shimura's was in the mid 80's and at the time, it was a great place to dine. Today, I was craving Japanese food and Shimura popped into my head. This is the MOST amazing sushi restaurant. Their abalone crawls in front of you and the chef knows the effect of different sushi on different mindsets. For the layperson (such as myself), this was a life-changing experience about the potential of food to reflect the psyche. I know what you're thinking - too much Like Water For Chocolate viewing.
