If you have any medical trauma, DO NOT put yourself through this doctor. He is not trauma informed. He was very aggressive at initiating a procedure before I was ready. I was left alone in a room with him which already had me on edge, then I had to physically block him from my nose, and I informed him I have severe panic attacks from being numbed so I needed a minute. I’ve been seeing Dr. Shimmo for thyroid issues for a few years now. Hey seriously, can’t understand these reviews. If you’re reviewing him for bedside manner, then sure, his isn’t the best. But he’s an excellent doctor. What do you want? Positive results? Or feed your ego? I like him and will continue to see him for my thyroid.
Thank you so much dr. Shimotakahara he figured out what was wrong when other doctors could not I could not be more grateful. I think he could see that I was very scared and nervous and he did not hesitate to show humor and a little compassion yes he does work fast and is very busy he got me in and out and helped me at the same time 40 or so years experience but in my opinion over 100 years of knowledge past down from generations. Dr Shimotakahara did my recent sinus surgery. He is a typical specialist. Fairly unremarkable. He evaluates with a quick exam & notes the primary complaint. Expect him to be impersonal. He will address your one or two specific issues & make a treatment plan/surgical plan quickly. Don’t expect to have a long, drawn out conversation with him about your concerns.
