Set in the downstairs level of a mall-like building, this restaurant offers Japanese and Korean food and good service. The clean interior features shiny hardwood floors and a seating arrangement that gets a little cramped in the corners. There are nine sushi dinners, all of which are accompanied by miso soup. An a la carte sushi menu allows you to mix and match. The menu includes red meat, poultry, fish and vegetarian entrees. Try the Yaki Niku (marinated, charbroiled beef) or seafood soba. The restaurant serves beer, wine a... read more

hairs in the food – my husband and I went to shila for dinner, and the food inside the restaurant was decent, so we order a plate to go, but guess what when we reach home the food had a long red(blond) hair inside of it, my husband was disappointed about it, and i decide to call the restaurant and to my surprise the person that attend the phone didn't even sound surprise or bother by that, basically he just said: oh ok I will tell the owner
My overall impression was that it was pretty good. The food was great and the portions were ideal. My main issue here was the service. We constantly had to call the waitress over to order, ask for a fork, water, the bill, etc. I would definitely go back and just hope the service is better next time.
I love this restaurant. Ive been going here regularly for the past four years for birthdays and other occasions. They have great miso soup, tasty, fresh sushi, mochi ice cream and a lovely plum cocktail. And if you dont want sushi, theres a wide variety of Korean cuisine and they cater well to vegetarians. The hostess is very sweet and funny, the service is fantastic and its low key enough to have really great get-togethers with a large group of people.
the sushi selection is excellent and the food is always fresh. i want to particularly comment on the korean food. it is really quite exceptional and better than most other korean restaurants that ive been to. its obvious that the food was created with much care. the waiters were also quick and easily accessible. also, the clean and cozy atmosphere is perfect for large groups of friends or a more personal environment. when looking to try great korean/japanese food in cambridge, definitely try this place out.
The girls who work there are rather rude. I spoke English to one of them because she spoke English to me first. All of sudden, she rudely talked back and said, "Arent you Korean?" I spoke Korean to finish ordering and didnt think much of it.Next time when I ordered, she pretended that both dishes I asked for were not available and I had to choose something else. It did not make sense because the replacing dishes used same ingredients. When I went to pick up the order, they were giggling. I realized that they had done it on p... read more

This is a great little gem right in the heart of Harvard Square, with consistently tasty Korean food (Ive never even ventured to the Japanese offerings because I crave the Korean dishes so much). The staff is always friendly and helpful. I found the food to much more authentic, flavorful, and fresher than Koreana. The basement ambience is not the most glamorous, but the food more than makes up for it. A sure-fire winner!!
