I visited Dr. Shih in May 2025 after an X-ray revealed a shadow under my tooth. He quickly identified the root cause and performed root canal on the same day that was both quick and elegant. One year later, I have had no issues, and both my dental dentists in the US and Taiwan have commented that the root canal was done perfectly (they were not the one who referred me to Dr. Shih). My dentist referred me to Dr. Shih for a root canal. He and his staff were extremely professional, going over in detail what my situation was, and how the procedure would go. His anesthetic was spot-on, and I experienced basically no pain. He communicated throughout the procedure and made me feel quite comfortable. No one wants to get a root canal, but my experience was remarkably smooth and quick, having had one previous root canal to compare it to. I highly recommend Dr. Shih!
My Dentist referred me to Peninsula Endodontics for my root canal. First thing I noticed was the professionalism of the staff. The check in process was quite easy. And Dr Shih was very calming that put me at ease. Dr Shih and his assistant worked very well together. The whole process was pain free, thanks to Dr Shih. Had to go in for my every first root canal. Staff was was very welcoming and professional. Dr Shih was amazing and knowledgeable and explained everything that was going to happen. Before I knew it the root canal was done. The only pain I have a day after was a mild ack from the numbing injection sites and that is all. If I need any other work done I will definitely be back.
Doctor Shih is a life saver! I woke up one morning in extreme pain. I could not put my teeth together without one tooth, causing all the pain. It turned out to be a tooth that had a prior root canal. I called the office and expressed my concerns. They were able to get me in as quickly as possible Dr. Shih went in and performed a retreatment on that tooth and as soon as the anesthesia wore off, I found that I had no discomfort and by the next day, I had no more pain.
