A REAL JEWISH STYLE DELI IN THE DESERT? A MIRAGE OR FOR REAL? – I grew up in Philly and New York. Need I say more. Oh, yeh, I'm a Jewish. Like many restaurants, "good" depends on what you order. If you've had smoked fishes from Zabar's, Barney Greengrass, etc., you'll want your money back after eating Sherman's Nova, Baked Salmon, etc. If you want a fairly good Pastrami, Corned Beef or Salami, you'll be in good shape. Editorial Review – This old-school kosher-style family restaurant is where locals and in-the-know visitors go for favorites like 8-egg omelets, cinnamon bread French toast and a sandwich board offering more than 40 options including hot corned beef piled high on rye bread.
THE BEST Reuben sandwich, beef brisket, rye bread, carrot cake, the list goes on! – Get the word out - THE BEST deli ever is in Palm Springs. I live only 2 blocks from the famous Junior's Deli in L.A. - I would drive an hour and a half to go get ANY sandwich at Sherman's before I go to Junior's for the same. It's THAT good! good service, nice food, but over priced! – Nice place, good location, but overpriced. Being a "Jewish" Deli does not mean you can charge $10 for a pound of flour cooked in chix fat, then claim your inexpensive!
better than average deli – the usual great or jewish deli menu. Some things are better than others. Salads are a little weak. Sandwiches are of healthy size. Desserts are the usual 15 foot high deli creations. Good for the price and convenience.
