I had a very rewarding experience in the adult ward during my time here. The staff is caring and kind. They had recreational therapy which was a game changer for me. The environment is thoughtfully laid out with free access to an outdoor screened in patio facing the woods. I enjoyed watching the deer and birds. I was not supposed to really be admitted. I went to the urgent care for help with my OCD intrusive thoughts and they said I had to be admitted. The woman who admitted me said to "stay strong" and "pray" and "what about your future children?" She showed me her graduation video off of her personal phone and said "if i can do it, you can too." My stay felt like prison. The staff have zero empathy. It had an okay environment and secretary, but thats just about where the praise ends. The nurse that I talked to was very blunt and judgemental. She scoffed at me many times when I was opening up to her about what was going on, and didn't listen to what I was saying. The process felt very procedural and as if the nurses didn't care at all about the patients and only about the work getting done. Overall a very negative experience.
