Hands down the worst place to leave a loved one with this tragic disorder. It is a holding yard for parents at their wits end and offers no therapy. All that happens here is the girls get together and trade secrets on how to hide their eating disorder. My daughter is an adult now with children of her own. We talk about how this place did zero for her other than finding ways to hide her disorder better. Run, I mean run, from this place.

I think we all fear psychiatric wards or the stigma that comes with them, which i’ve been to about 5 in the DMV. A very heartfelt thank you to Sheppard Pratt, Harbor unit in Elkridge. And a special shout out to those who made me feel at home — Epiphany, Kim, Tanya Uche, Becky and Katrina. And to all those who helped me. Your kindness and care is noticed. 🫶

I have no idea how this place is still running. It needs to be shut down. Do not go here, go to Sinai Hospital. I eventually started enjoying my time because the staff act like baby sitters and crack up with patients and the patients have free range there’s no real structure. Except strap her to a board for a couple of hours when they should’ve kicked her out the first time. Oh something totally worr... read more

I eventually started enjoying my time because the staff act like baby sitters and crack up with patients. Compared to Sinai hospital this place is like a playground. Doctors eventually helped me but I went the first 2 weeks manic, psychotic because I couldn’t properly articulate what was going on with me. They prescribed anti anxiety meds (that are used for blood pressure) but didn’t prescribe an antipsychotic unti... read more

Psychotropic medications are far, far more dangerous than the doctors who prescribe them would ever admit. I firmly believe that most people would never use psychotropic medications if they knew how dangerous they are, and I also believe that most doctors would stop prescribing them if they had any idea how dangerous they are. In 2003, the FDA added a warning about the increased risk of stroke to the U.S. prescribing information for risperidone. The same warning followed in 2004 for olanzapine and in 2005 for aripiprazole.
