Dad has absolutely thrived at Shepherd of Grace his first year here. We didn’t know how he would handle losing mom and then making the leap only one year later to apartment living. But he has been able to connect regularly with the other residents and the Shepherd of Grace staff every day at mealtimes, and raves to us about the good food and level of service all the time. Dad moved to Shepherd of Grace last year, about 11/2 yrs after our mom, Grace, passed away. He was quite lonely at home alone after 61 years of living with mom and simply lost interest in eating and the joy in his spirit was diminished. He transitioned, at 87, to Becker’s Shepherd of Grace Community Independent Living 2 bedroom apartment with his beloved cat, Maggie.
