As a contractor and a landlord,who has multiple properties nationally, this is by far the most incompetent (at management level) power company, we have ever worked with. Employees are professional, management is incapable of any form of professionalism and is severely limited in comprehension with respect to coding and electrical laws. As a landlord, I've dealt the SVEC a lot over the years. I've had a consistently good experience. Their service has been reliable, communication is clear, and any time I’ve had questions, their customer service team has been responsive and helpful.
As a landlord and property manager, I can say this firm is so much better than any other electric utility I have to deal with. Paperwork is so much easier.
Very poor communication. I highly suggest you call regularly to make sure your payments have gone through.
The response time for outages is abysmal at best. They take 6 hours to replace a pole and re hang lines on a sunny day when I've worked with other power companies that only take1-2 hours to do the same job in hurricanes.
