James was very helpful, understanding, courteous, and knowledgeable when my Jeep broke down in the middle of the night. His shop is only open till 5:00PM on the weekdays, but when I broke down around 8:00PM, James answered the phone and helped the tow truck bring my vehicle in late at night. He did hours of research to figure out what was wrong with my car and offered to leave it at his shop for several weeks while I was attempting to send it to another location. We are on vacation and our minivan started having issues where we would have not been able to drive back home today like we needed. James was so great and willing to fit us in to his busy schedule last minute and get our car back in the road again in a couple of hours. James is honest and we are so grateful he was able to help us!! Thank you!!!
Our truck started to make horrible sounds, very metallic screeching sounds. We had a couple of trips lined up in the coming weeks and thought of the worst. We are visiting from Canada and had our front spring snap in our suspension, we called so many places close by that wouldn’t work on our car as it is a VW. Shelton’s not only fixed it, but rearranged his schedule to fit us in and not leave us waiting on vacation. James was incredibly friendly and professional. My kids loved the cats that he cares for in his little industrial area. Just all around great service. Highly recommend this garage!!
After searching all over Charleston for a good mechanic, I came across Shelton’s automotive and I couldn’t have been happier to go with him. He fixed leaks coming from my truck’s steering rack and differential. Swapped out my upper control arms and did a bumper install. My truck feels, looks and drives so much better!
