The boat was awful. It was beat up and nothing on the dash worked. They gave us a 40hp boat, which was EXTREMELY slow. Who puts a 40hp pontoon in the ocean?! I realize it’s the bay but we needed more power. Took about double the time to get to Shell island and back which cut our time at the island down a lot. Many other pontoon rentals passed us going each way. 2 butterflies even passed us! No joke!! SO slowwww. I’ll never rent from this company again. Waste of money.
worst place to rent a boat, bad service, horrible service at that, rude lady at the front, boat barley ran, maybe 2 knots, overall worst experience on a boat rental ever.
We were greatly disappointed. We were supposed to get a 60hp boat, my husband was told by the employee helping him we were getting 10hp more and we ended up with only a 50hp which was so slow and absolutely unsafe when in traffic with other boats. On top of that we could NOT cruise St Andrew’s bay. Only certain areas. We had plans to pick up some of our party at Panama City Marina and my husband received a call on the way there saying we couldn’t be there. Had a great time on the water . Nice people .but the boats are poorly maintained. Steering was hard , trim was all but pointless,and some of the deck railing was broken.
My husband and I had a hard time deciding between renting a regular pontoon boat or one with slides. It was more expensive to do it with slides, but felt our kids would enjoy the novelty of it so we rented it for half a day to make it more affordable. I would recommend if you are on the fence about going with slides, based on our experience I recommend going without.
