Called due to bleeding but Dr Shay isn’t seeing her patients, scheduling everyone with her NP & it would be a month to get me in. Staff advised I go to ER if bleeding continued. At the ER I found Dr Shay no longer services Aultman Hospital. ER doc needed to review my records, I requested a copy sent over. Then, I confirmed my long awaited appt with Dr Shay’s NP. Showed up on time for my 7am appt but Dr Shay cancelled it & refused all services for having my past records reviewed by the ER doctor.

Got to ER, they failed to mention Dr Shay no longer services Aultman Hospital. ER doc needed to review my records so I requested a copy sent over. After discharge, I confirmed the long awaited appt with Dr Shay’s NP. Showed up to find Dr Shay cancelled it & all services for my having a copy of the records sent to the ER doc. Though I request continued care she refused!

I have been to Dr. Shay's office for two colonoscopy procedures, and one procedure of going down the throat. I found Dr. Shay and her staff to be top notch. I will definitely be returning to this office for my next procedure. I prefer women doctors, and I highly recommend Dr. Shay.

There was only a wait for the office appointment; the days of my procedures, they were right on time. Everything ran so smoothly, and everyone was very nice. Dr. Shay was very efficient, and she listened when I discussed a concern. I completely trust her with my health.

Well, I wish I could tell you about my personal visit with Dr. Shay, but I was not accepted as a patient. In April I was in the hospital and had an Upper GI done and was not satisfied with the doctor that performed it. After I was released, I still needed a colonoscopy. I scheduled with Dr. Shay by recommendation of my family doctor. Today I got a call saying she will not see me as a patient and I need to go back to original doctor, no explanation. Very unhappy and she is very unprofessional.

The whole process for a colonoscopy with Dr. Shay is very, very efficient and on time. Initially I was seen by an assistant, who is extremely competent. Process is like clockwork -- the office visit, the procedure, and quick. There is very limited time to talk to the doctor, but all my questions and concerns were answered. I felt very confident in her ability after other family members were quite satisfied with her care. The facility is very, very clean. Would highly recommend Dr. Shay!

This was my first visit with Dr. Shay and I found her to be very professional. She made me feel comfortable and it was very easy to talk with her. She explained what tests would be done and I didn't feel rushed at all. I found her to be quite pleasant.

She has a policy of not seeing any patients that are late (even five minutes) which was not clearly outlined to patients. Additionally, her bedside manner is lacking. I had an appointment rescheduled without my knowledge and was forced to make an appointment on New Year's Eve due to my schedule constraints. Appointment are incredibly rushed, but wait times can be up to an hour. She is competent, but I recommend going to a physician that is more courteous and understanding of patients.
