Shark Reef Resort refused ot honor a confirmed online reservation made over 1 month in advance. Instead, Shark Reef Resort decided to rip me off for over $100 more than the confirmed reservation price, even after showing the front desk clerk a copy of the reservation. It was a classic "bait and switch" to take advantage of a helpless consumer. Shame on Shark Reef Resort for practicing deception, when they could have resolved the issue ethically and honestly. Using 'Resort' in the name of the hotel is a nice touch, but this place is nothing like a resort. Our room smelled of mold, there was no heat, the light switch did not work, the fan did not work and the beds were small. All of our luggage, even the luggage we did not wear, had to be washed to get rid of the stench caused by the room. The room did not even have a window. My wife and kids referred to the room as the prison cell because of the painted cinder block walls and the dim lighting. The only way to turn the light on an... read more
