My experience with Dr.Rice's therapy was very disappointing. For the first couple of sessions he put in his best effort and that's how I got sold on continuing with him. But later he started sort of slacking off.But that's not the worst of it. He would make these offensive comments and I really didn't know what to think of him. Having read all the previous comments I'm guessing he must be hating his patients. He needs to retire. Period.
Wow, just wow. I don't even want to describe some of the things that went on during my therapy sessions with Dr. Rice. I will say that if you have masochistic tendencies, then this is the psychologist for you. If you actually want to feel better, stay far away from him. I'm still blown away by some of the things he said and did. I'll get over my shock, but I'm most concerned with the seriously mentally ill people who have such low self esteem that they will just continue to be abused by him, somehow thinking they deserve it.... read more
I have found over several years with my multiple personality that Dr. Rice is a very effective therapist for me. He keeps me on track and focuses on the issues at hand. If I wander he lets me know and brings me back to dealing with my problems. Because of this I believe that Dr. Rice is very good but is not for everyone. If you want an ear to cry on you probable will not want Dr. Rice. If you are serious about changing your thinking and getting better I highly recommend Dr. Rice.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr. Rice. He has been my therapist for 3 years helping me handle my bi polar disorder and also helps me reduce my stress. I haven't had a manic episode since I have been seeing him and when I have a lot of stress in my life, I have called his office, and they ALWAYS get me right in. Dr. Rice is the kindest and most caring man I have ever had the privilege being treated by. I would strongly recommend him to my family and friends without hesitation. If you want someone who really cares about your mental health ... read more
My visits with Dr. Rice were disappointing. He bragged that he knew how to do things, but while he assigned homework, he barely reviewed it. Instead of getting to the core issues, he was eager to do "guided imagery" which did nothing to address the real issues -- it was just a temporary distraction.
I would not recommend Dr. Rice. He did not actively listen or try to determine how to help. He would quickly jump to a conclusion, and often put his own words into my mouth, instead of allowing me to explain what I actually felt. I gained nothing during my visits with Dr. Rice. My experience with Dr. Rice was a waste of time and money. My trust and faith in therapy has been shaken.
Instead of feeling supproted and encourage I experienced being ridiculed and belittled. Even though they say that religion will only be used if requested I was bombarded with thier beliefs and views. I found that they had an agenda that overshadowed my needs. I finally turned to another Hypnotherapist: Dona Coombs with Aurora hypnotherapy, who intuitively seemed to know where to guide and support me in addressing my issues and helped fulfill my goals. I Hope you learn from my experience.
