Dr. Shapiro removed my two year old daughter’s left renal system due to chronic reflux at St.Louis Children’s Hospital in 1986. My daughter is now a married mother of four and an RN (candidate) at BJC Health. The surgery took most of the day (about 7 hours); Dr. Shapiro was back in the hospital at 3am due to a low blood count. Where to begin . 🤔 The wait time just to make an appointment to see her is atrocious we had to wait about 6 weeks before we could even get a consultation. The appointment day comes we get there the wait wasn't so bad but she comes in and we discuss what I need to be done for my son and she tell me yes no problem she will get it done. Left there satisfied. The next day I get a call from the office saying she has retracted her decision and isn't going to do it. We can revisit this in 6 months.
