(39 now) Live far far away- but every time I visit the Gulf Coast, I have to drop by and have lunch or dinner at this place ❤️ The best egg rolls (has to be handmade because I can never find the same egg roll ANYWhERE else!) and egg drop soup I have ever had. I placed a to go order. The man at the front register ignored me completely when I arrived to pick up my order (probably because I am female), but he acknowledged the men picking up orders who came in behind me. The woman saw me standing there waiting and approached me to ask me about my order. She was very friendly and polite. I only tipped because of her.
My husband and I always enjoy dining at Shanghai Chinese Restaurant! The staff knows our order each time we come in, and even customizes it to our preferences, which makes us feel truly welcomed and appreciated. I love the people who own this restaurant. With a simple phone call, they create a Chinese culinary experience that takes place in the four corners of my mind and taste buds. I love the Mongolian beef with grilled onions, and the sautéed shrimp and broccoli with a slightly spicy sauce to finish the deal. Let me just start off and say, I eat Chinese food all of the time. Different restaurants. I’m not picky when it comes to Chinese food and I’ve never been to one that made me leave a negative review. The General Tso chicken was watery and rubbery. The taste was just off. The egg rolls are inedible and tasted like chemicals.
