Driving down from San Francisco, we stopped in San Luis Obispo after a long day on the road, and Shalimar was exactly what we needed. The food was outstanding, full of authentic flavor and perfectly cooked. The naan was the highlight!!! Fresh, soft, fluffy, and honestly some of the best I’ve ever had. We went for weekend buffet. Onion pakoda, palak paneer, dhal fry, mango pudding were excellent.
The food is tasteless, overly spicy and oily and it’s like eating a pile of dirt. Save your money and go elsewhere. The inside smells like a morgue and the waiters always keep bugging you. The floors are dirty and smells. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.
New orders stop around 8:45pm
Unfortunately, Monday is buffet only for dinner. Not the best value for money for Vegetarians as it's $18 and limited vegetarian option so I was disappointed.
