Shale hills is an experimental hydrgeological site of the Penn State University UP campus. A good number of researchers have put their tools such as Lysemeter , tensiometer, rain gauges etc trying to understand the characteristics of the hill-slope and nature of the water and moisture flow onin-situ basis. Be ready to hike and at times you might come across small innocuous snakes hiding underneath the leaves.
